Another update on the progress of the music and artwork including another addition to the Lords of Uberdark Team...
"We now officially have music! Brennan Anderson (www.brennananderson.com) has agreed to compose an original score for Lords of Uberdark -- and the first track (Overlands Day) is ready for action! Give it a listen (audio player is below)... The in-game music system is also underway, and should allow us to smoothly transition from one theme to another depending on the circumstances... So when you go underground, it'll slowly switch over to the underground theme. Same thing when Night falls -- that's the idea anyway.

Another update has emerged from Aaron giving us a small hit of information on the progress on the project's Kickstarter page.
Just wanted to give y'all a little status update. The download is now fixed, for anyone who's been having trouble -- I shuffled files around a few days ago on the server and forgot to repost the link. Cody has done up a bunch of nice models for the game, and I've been working on getting the engine to render 'em correctly... Right now the poor little dorf is quite discombobulated... =/
Still hoping to get a new Alpha for Monday the 29th -- but in the meantime, here are a few of the models to check out.
Also, to those who have wondered about the TGA format for textures -- the file has to be uncompressed, and us…Read more >
Aaron has finally bestowed upon us a progress update so we now know he's alive. He posted this on the Lords of Uberdark Kickstarter page,
"Hi folks -- sorry to be out of touch, but I've been working... =D As for an update, the next alpha version (0.35) will have completely new mouse handling code, so that should fix the bug with the controls not working. Also threw in a simple map export/import last night and changed how the terrain is rendered (which should improve speed on some systems) -- though there may be more work along those lines in the future. Working now on the animation system and some other stuff..."
It is good to see progress being made aswell as already working on resolving particular bugs at such an early stage.Read more >
(Jace239 01:48, August 11, 2011 (UTC)) According to a tweet by Aaron posted 21 days ago, he hoped that the single-player alpha would be out around August 10-ish. It's currently August 11th for me, so it's still early to tell, but maybe there's some new problems? It's to be expected with such an ambitious project. For more details and to keep up with his latest tweets, check out the homepage for Lords of Uberdark.Read more >
